How to silence your inner critic A Conversation with Margaret Sturton on the Creative Process

Had a wonderful creative reconnection with Margaret Sturton last week. We talked about silencing the inner critic, making space for joy, and taking a kinder approach to creativity.

I wrote about it on my Substack.

Do you have a cat? And where’s the strangest place they’ve ever hidden?

We're 5 months into January but we can now confidently say that there is only 1 day left! It's been a long one but you did it! We did it and we're almost there.

Tiny colour experiments with risograpy. Keeping it small so it’s easy for me to carve out some time for experiments and play. The colours I used here are the difficult to capture fluorescent orange and blue. #risography

Panel One:
A scientist works at a blackboard. Diagrams and text on the blackboard contain the phrases: crushing darkness, seemingly no escape, time drags and, inhospitably cold. A second figure approaches and, seeing the blackboard, asks "Black Holes?"

Panel Two:
The scientist replies "January"
