This is sad news. I remember the first time I read Hyperion; I must have been maybe eleven or twelve, and I checked it out from Somers Public Library in hardcover, and it blew me away.

This is broadly reflective of my experience. LLMs may be good for some things - I'm told coding? - but in the fields I actually work in (Education & Writing) it's just not worth using. Nevermind the ethical and environmental concerns.

And coincidence, the edited copy of five was just returned to me! Guess I know what I'll be doing on the plane :)

I updated my word trackers, and Guild Mage has passed a million words on Royal Road.
This is sort of comes with the long-running serial territory; I set out to write a series where readers would feel like, when they got a new chapter, they were checking in with a long running D&D game with friends.
