Aside from some misc. obscure early hardcore cassette and vinyl compilations, the only official Mecht Mensch release was a long out of print 7” originally recorded by Butch Vig at Smart Studios in 1983 which went on to become an underground hardcore cult classic.

Surprised how few young people were there. I’d say the average age was 40, very white, a decent LGBTQ + presence. Also quite a few nuns. Unsurprisingly more women than men.

The Elder is less of a mistake than Unmasked is. That’s the album that sunk the ship. The Elder just happened to be a poor choice as a follow up. I vividly remember discussions on the playground in grade school of how bummed we were about Unmasked.
