It is an immaculate return to form. Beautiful art style, soundtrack that's mesmerizing as its ancestors, 5+ difficulty modes for any skill level, easy to spend an afternoon or two on, and available on every platform.

It's fuckin' great. Play it.

Has a mild case of NSMB Syndrome in its art style, bit too sanitized. Sans the rocket jet levels, it's damn solid. Not a perfect 1:1 of the SNES trilogy, but does enough in its set pieces to stand out on its own.
