With magical healing, things certainly are sped up but I can see there still being care necessary after the initial healing attempt. Another healer might repair the remainder of the damage, or a regular chirurgeon takes care of it, where one might have scars that remain.

The WOL is exceptional so a healer WOL to me is basically the baseline for what would be a truly extraordinary healer. So, the WOL might be able to heal fatal injuries, while a more normal person would be able to get them away from death but still in a precarious condition.

It’s a big “it depends on the healer” for me but my personal rule of thumb is that practiced healers can do a lot with enough aether, it is just proportional to how severe the injury is. Arms can be reattached if you got the rest of the arm and enough aether, but it probably won’t be full healed.
