23 February to 1 March 2026 marks Eating Disorders Awareness week - 🧵 (1/4)

This webinar is aimed at those who want to deepen their understanding of women’s experiences of HIV and learn how storytelling and peer-led spaces can transform engagement, wellbeing, and trust.

Through lived experience, short readings, and facilitated discussion, speakers will reflect on confidence, belonging, culture, and the importance of community spaces alongside clinical care.

Rather than focusing on HIV awareness alone, this session explores what happens when women are given space to share their stories, be heard, and support one another.

Storytelling has the power to challenge stigma, build confidence, and create connection. In this webinar, women living with HIV come together to share reflections from Our Stories Told By Us - a book they created through collective storytelling and community.

Research shows that people in our community may be more likely to experience symptoms of binge eating disorder. All eating disorders are more likely to affect people who are in some way marginalised. (3/4)

People living with HIV face a great deal of stress and stigma in our society, which can trigger eating disorder symptoms. Body changes as a result of HIV or treatment can also be hard or triggering (2/4)

It's still HIV TESTING WEEK - we test, because HIV testing is quick, confidential and free. There are many ways to ask for a test: a sexual health clinic, your GP, or by ordering one online.
