Yeah I can't help but acknowledge its treatment of women and the working class and really be like :/ this is people's idea of good anti-imperial art? It's literally glorifying the concept of a "big hero" of the rebellion which is a fundamentally false narrative.

What would be a meaningful representation of rebellion to me? Its hard because while I understand the appeal of making shows about espionage true rebellion is grassroots work. Its stonewall and the black panthers. I have no clear idea what the rebellion of Andor politically stands for

Started s2 of Andor and god I can't help but notice all the ways it is failing as a piece of media thats supposedly uplifting rebellion. Like am I too critical or is thing actually bad? My one Andor critique rn is the way it appears to be handling the rebels, I want to see more before I commit to this opinion but while empire is oppressive art and love and community still flourish between the cracks and the fact that the rebels seem to have absolutely no joy in their lives is odd

I can't comment on the overall quality of Andor yet I just started watching it and I am enjoying it so far but its crazy CRAZY work of Disney to put Cassian in front of Jyn on the poster for Rogue One on Disney+ like the true transparency of their love for profit over standing for anything is nuts
