OK, here's my "the (English) Pokemon Pokémon game for the Nintendo Switch system" cursory analysis.

First of all, I dumped the game to immediately discover the most sad romfs ever:

with how many times ubisoft have rereleased rayman 2 you figured they would’ve done a full remake at this point but the closest thing to that is the ps2 version with the stupid fucking hub world

i bet some of the backlash just came from how often they bring it up in their time playing but i can’t imagine something like that getting so many dislikes

both jon & arin agreed and even actually used the word Soulless which is like. i know it’s not a modern word at all but i kind of associate it with modern game discussion so to hear it from 2012 feels weird

one of the most interesting things i’ve learned binging jon game grumps is the negative feedback they got from fans for saying nsmbwii is fun but soulless. like that’s basically the common consensus now but in 2012 they got a lot of shit for it and had to explain their opinion in future episodes
