M5 & caffe, November 2025.
Another break in last year’s film SLR project, preparing for this year’s Rangefinder project, I bought a used Leica M5 & took it for a coffee. I’ve collected Leica M film cameras over the past 20 years but never had an M5. But I can now tell you I really like it.

Managed to get down to Gresham Blake in Brighton today and tried on the Burnt Orange Herringbone Linen Suit I’d had my eye on that they’d kindly put aside for me.
The jacket fits perfectly, the trousers need taking in and up a little (cutting down on alcohol beginning to show), and I love it.

Strange day to be at QPR for the football.

Some more Basque food
Although I’m back from the Bilbao weekend I’ve still got some more wonderful Basque meals to share. This one started with a bowl of beef broth, followed by some anchovies on toast we shared as a starter and then octopus with some creamy mash. Totally delicious.
