Exactly that! It's not that it can't be technically replicated, but it's trying to get people over. Plus, especially at my age, trying to get peers in farming to try new apps... well, you can imagine how successful that would be!

I'm a farmer and I'm in a group for combine operators on Facebook. When you have an issue fitting harvest, pop a post up there for guidance and people respond in minutes. It's the only thing I really use it for, but no other app replicates it for that sort of thing.

Well, tbh, I think they way people socialise now is very insular. Going to people's houses is great craic, but reminds me of being a young teenager, where the only hope of meeting new people was if someone brought a cousin. How do you meet new people?

The numbers were declining anyway, but I think covid broke something in how we socialise. Younger people doing it very differently now. Not better or worse, just different. But different in a way that cements the decline of night clubs.
