A golden retriever lies on the floor like a melancholy dishcloth. Her comfortable bed lies slightly away from her but no! She spurns comforts! Only hard floor.

I am also delighted to say I've just signed with Robinson to publish No One Talks About This Stuff. Robinson publishes It's Not a Bloody Trend and are a dream to work with. I am so excited for NOTATS to have a proper life given all the Unbound horrors. As you can see, Sybil is very supportive πŸ™„

It means a lot that Reading Well has books on dealing with loss. It's something that many parents experience. It's also why No One Talks About This Stuff is deliberately intersectional: grief and loss don't exist in a vacuum. They are informed by who you are. It's a support group in a book.

Some lovely news. Accessibility means a lot to me with my books so I'm really thrilled that my anthology No One Talks About This Stuff has been chosen for @readingagency’s new #ReadingWell for Families booklist! Now available to borrow for free from libraries. readingagency.org.uk/get-reading/...

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree, worth skipping to Ed and James's postmortem in the last five minutes. Very funny.

My dad had the same issue, they randomly decided to make his 'blueyonder' email address defunct: 'just set up a new email address to fix it'. I managed to get him back him but he'd spent months going back and forth to customer services, how do Virgin expect people in their 80s to cope with this?

I was utterly thrilled to get my first PLR statement today. Over 1400 people have borrowed It’s Not a Bloody Trend from a library since it came out, which, as a former Library Child makes me hugely emotional. Hurrah for people with ADHD (and for that title)

Hello! I interviewed lots of people about the ups, downs and middles of ADHD, AuDHD and more for It’s Not a Bloody Trend. It was really inspiring and lovely. My publisher also put the resources section online if that helps connecting you overcoming.co.uk/1647/Its-Not...

Another great long read about why cynicism is for suckers. If you find yourself up in the mentions lamenting that nothing will ever change, repeat after me: "Cynicism is a tool for the status quo." Being an optimistic realist or - as I identify - a grim optimist, is WAY more punk

After years of β€˜big trauma’, I’m now ready to embrace Christmas For those going through difficult times, December can be tough. This year, the writer Kat Brown is determined to make the most of the season

I have my first piece in Sunday Times Style today - teenage me is screeching - about grief and sadness and how the evergreen melancholy of Christmas can be a surprisingly brilliant time to sit with both (should be a gift link)

Pressure builds.
They get quieter.
Thoughts less malleable.
So we offer ways out.
We won't judge.
We will flex.
Until they are able to come to us.
Cancel, change.
We can always find a way.
Without a sigh, without guilt.
We make it safe to lighten the load.
There's a solution, always.
