i feel so blessed to have grown up with spongebob and to still have him in my life. like, genuinely. i know it's just a cartoon but it's the best most positive influence i've ever had and no matter where i am it has given me something that makes it so much easier to make friends & connect w ppl

I just know people are gonna pretend to care that Tales of the TMNT got canceled and blame SpongeBob for it and it's gonna be so annoying...

And of course newer media tends to be more inclusive, so lots of their "criticism" is just open bigotry disguised as criticism.

Most modern movies, games, and shows don't suck.

I think the problem is that some people want things to be like they were back when they were kids when life didn't suck for them, and they associate that with the media they grew up with and take it out on newer media.

There’s still good cartoons out there. You just need to look, but I know my favorite 2020s cartoons at the moment all have unique art style and they don’t rely on that certain art style that people hate.

I wish this would come back. Some of their new shows deserve some exposure so they won’t be remembered as the shows that didn’t match the sponge’s ratings

Fionna and Cake discourse on the other app is rooted in bigotry from assholes who only watched reruns of the first two seasons of Adventure Time on Cartoon Network in the early 2010s.

Rock Paper Scissors is proof that we need more shows that can be a literal shitpost and doesn’t take itself seriously. It’s the type of show that we all need to turn our brains off take our minds off the real world.

It’s a long wait, but a sequel was bound to happen thanks to its massive success

You know how repetitive animation discussion has gotten on the other app? Well, they’re talking about the show being fantastical again. Cartoons aren’t supposed to feel realistic, even in the most realistic genre (slice of life).

I don't really mind The Loud House having fantasy elements (dragons, time travel, etc.) since my favorite genre is fantasy. Tbh, the show never jumped the shark for me when it became more cartoony. I still like it.

I heard a rumor that Paramount is gonna be made fun of in Search for SquarePants and if this turns out to be true, then I’m gonna be laughing hysterically for a week XD

Comedy is just as strong as seasons 2 & 3, where you get a bunch of quotable lines. Characters still feel like themselves for the most part. Season 4 is by far the best looking season of the whole franchise, while only seasons 1 & 10-present and TPSS have competition.

The Tibbitt era at its peak, especially 4 where it feels like an extended period of the classic era. It had more episodes emphasizing on the story while 5 was a little more experimental at the time (due to 3 segments)

I don't know which show's meta humor is more smug - Family Guy's or Teen Titans Go's. They both have that annoying mean girl energy to them

Watching "The Patrick Star Show" really does reignite some faith in the next gen of US toons. Not bc it's the best or funniest currently on even for kids, but it feels like it embodies the kind of toon that could thrive once the pendulum swings back. Again, like "New Adventures of Mighty Mouse" did.

According to Tubi's head of acquisitions, "LOONEY TUNES" has become one of their "top-ten best-performing series," and is popular with viewers across generations.

He says they are in "active negotiations" to ensure that Tubi can be the home of Looney Tunes for "quite a while — likely years."
