An amazing weekend of music at Skaņu Mežs - the best experimental music festival in the Baltics. Highlights included Harpy (pictured), These New Puritans, and Shabaka Hutchins with Hamid Drake. Such a breadth of music was covered!

Went on a little 52km hike the other weekend. Two days with friends and a lovely dog, camping in hammock, writing odd poetry, and getting annoyed at wooden stairs.

My good friend Žils (@gillesdelesvelins.bsky.social) has made a new Lunt album. Just released on the amazing Cruel Nature Records!

I miss not having to carry the internet around in my pocket in order to do everything in life.

Head in the sands because everything happens elsewhere or it is just a momentary situation.

Same view every week on the way to the sauna. Preparing for a 50km hike that I will do at the weekend. First time hammock sleeping and probably my last chance of the year before the weather turns colder. So much cultural activity in Rīga atm, the city is rich and vibrant.

Went on a nice little 17km hike and met two slow worms, plus a mole cricket. This one let me photograph them, the other slithered away abruptly.

I met David Tibet and he was super sweet (and a little weird in a good way). A friend of mine met Lee Ronaldo and said he was very nice. Ive met another of my musical heroines several times, and supported her, and she’s always been lovely.

A three month trip to Japan to hike the trails Basho walked and buy so much vinyl I’d need to purchase extra luggage space for the flight home.

None, my speakers have died.

Back here again after a few months away. You can’t beat sitting in a sauna whilst watching gorgeous sunset. For me it is a mental health reset.
