The only Steam competitor I even consider these days is GoG for the DRM-free aspect but other than that, Steam is perfect: workshop, VR, generous sales/bundles, friends, Linux support...

For me, I'm on Steam because of Linux. The Steam Deck gave me an out to dump Windows and Steam Proton makes it so that all my games just *work* out of the box. Any other competitor (other than GoG via Lutris) is a giant PITA to get working on Linux

For that alone Steam will forever have my heart
