A slightly puffed up royal blue bird with a partially upright blue crest, white face, thick black necklace, light gray chest, and white underparts sits on a thin branch above the camera against a bright blue background at about a 45 degree angle facing right. Its head is slightly lifted as it looks into the distance in a dignified manner ignoring the activity below as the sunlight glints off its black eye.

This guy would like to apologize for his wildly inappropriate behavior last week.

The sanderling on the right has a mottled dark brown back, bright white underparts, and a black beak and legs. It is walking along kind of snuffling at the ground.
