Don't sleep on the Norwegians: they make some of the best comedy in the world.

That they do so much of it *in English* is just an amazing global public service to make their grade-A roasts available to people outside the Scandinvo-sphere.

Another don't-miss example in the first comment.

I think the urban setting thing here is β€œfresh food” e.g frogs as apposed to scraps, bread, chips etc particularly for milk production? And we do have quite a collection of frogs practically on first name terms with some of them.

Previous to this Sure Start centres were parachuted into areas where neighbourhood specific services (children & families) had grown over many years and lost their funding due to Sure Starts here they weren’t universally welcomed or indeed needed. A wider historical perspective is required.

Number of homeless single mothers soars in rental market Exclusive: More and more women are being β€˜pushed towards homelessness’, charity warns

Really stark data from @sheltercharity.bsky.social showing how women carry the burden of the rental crisis.

Women make up ~60% of adults in homeless temporary accommodation, and single mums make up a third of all people in temporary accommodation, though they only make up ~2% of the UK population.

YouTube video by Bitesized Audio Classics Six Classic Ghost Stories | A Bitesized Audio Compilation

Xmas is very much ghost story season here at Chez Lez and we're really enjoying Simon Stanhope's Bitesized Audio channel of Victorian & Edwardian mystery, ghost & detective tales. Lots of the usual suspects: E. Nesbit, E. Gaskell, Blackwood, MR James but lots of others too.
