I just don't want to die from something I could avoid. I want to control my life a bit more than I have because I've allowed complacency and depression and laziness to take over for too long.

I have been having a sort of midlife crisis where I have been obsessed in a very bad way with dying and what it means to be dead. It's a lot of unneeded stress but intrusive thoughts are a pain. Part of my resolve in getting healthier is stemming from this fear and obsession.

Losing weight is going to suck in the moment but I know there will be a point in the future where I will be fifty pounds lighter and realize how good it feels. It's an investment and I don't want to put myself in harms way anymore.
