I did it! Went to the movies all on my lonesome. There was only two other people in the showing. Not sure that made me feel more or less weird 🤣

Can someone please explain how I can go sometimes hundreds of miles to conventions solo but going to the cinema 20mins walk from my house makes me so anxious? I'm still going though. Booked the ticket online so I cant chicken out without losing my money 😆

An actual no word of a lie mound of embroidery thread. Behind that is a tin stuffed with more and bbn one of those plastic thread organiser boxes with some actually neatly on card bobbins. There is all the colours.

Embroidery thoughts. Searching the stash for a colour that can match pealy waly scotsman bahookie. Really need to store tread better 🧐

Its been two years since I painted this I think. It still makes me so happy that it turned out how I wanted. I consider myself to have zero artistic talent so the fact its recognisable is crazy to me. Make things! Make you happy.

My photo collage shows four pottery vessels, all a creamy yellow in colour, with black painted decoration depicting underwater sea-life featuring lively stylised octopuses with writhing tentacles (arms), All on display at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Crete. Top L - Minoan pithoid storage jar decorated in the “Marine Style” with wide-eyes octopus, argonauts, rocks, and coral. Rounded top tapering down to a narrower base. Short cyclindrical neck flaring out at the mouth with black wavy decoration reminiscent of waves. Loop handles attached to the shoulders of the body. Height 55 cm. From Zakros. 1500-1450 BC Top R - Minoan flask with a rounded body, short cyclindrical neck which flares at the rim, and two small curved handles attached between the top of the spout and the shoulders of the body. Decorated in “Marine Style” which depicts an almost cartoon-like octopus with wide eyes and sucker-lined tentacles which writhe around the vase. Other decorative sea-motifs include sea urchins, seaweed and rocks. Height 27cm. From Palaikastro, 1500-1450 BC Bottom L - alabastron, broad at the base, swelling outwards into a fuller belly before narrowing near the top with a very short cyclindrical neck and a wider flat rimmed mouth. Decorated in “Marine Style” with a wide-eyed octopus among rocks. From Knossos Little Palace, 1450-1370 BC Bottom R - krater with rounded body narrowing at the bottom towards the foot. Wide flaring mouth and rim with black painted wavy decoration, and two sturdy handles attached on each side between the top of the mouth and shoulders of the vessel. Decorated with a central very stylised wide-eyed octopus whose tentacles loop up and down around the body of the pot, 1370-1300 BC

Two prints one above the other on black frames. The top is baby kraken of ed with his bear. The grab machine thingy he got it from is behind him and he has clearly lost the sleeve of his leather jacket retrieving teddy. The lower one is sted in his battle jacket embracing ed.

Ed in some very lovely purple lingerie. My mum dosen't like ones like this. She is wrong though. They are in fact the best.

Four of baby kraken's skater boi prints in one frame. The frame is distressed gold and the mounting card is black. We have nice little park bench date, laughing stede being carried off over Ed's shoulder, ed munching on ballet boy stede shoulder and shirtless skater boy ed with his board. They make me very happy.

An round wooden embroidery hoop with some light blue scrap fabric. It has some not at all neat practice stitches done in orange thread. Back stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch, woven wheel, padded satin stitch and some very poor coral stitch. Also French knots. Which are the devil.

Practice! Very wonky but I think I made it extra hard for myself by not bothering to draw guidelines. Silly. But I did stitches I haven't done before.
