I got that all the time

Something that surprised myself is how much I enjoyed making a console for cheat code. Aside from how helpful it is for playtest and debug, the process of making it and using it is really fun (I guess I just like skipping stuff in games, even my own πŸ˜…)

I just had my most productive week since forever. Almost forgot how satisfying this feels

At the moment it’s still easier to create the object yourself than using the scene tile placement

21.09.2025 06:26 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It’s a tile. Godot has a feature called scene tile, basically you can make each tile a separate game object, giving full control to each tile and still utilize the benefit of tilemap system, tile placement and all. I think it’s a cool concept, it just lacks functionalities to really work with it

21.09.2025 06:25 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah it exists, but I feel like that beats the point of using tilemap in the first place. I was hoping to have a built-in function to find the node on tilemap just with the tilemap and a coordinate

21.09.2025 06:17 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I’m working with godot scene node for my game. It’s a great feature, but why is there no way to retrieve the object simply with a coordinate in tile map layer? I have to do it in reverse, manually get the coordinate by node position in the node itself and then store it somewhere πŸ™ƒ #godot

I definitely recommend people to organize their project and separate their gameplay implementation from engine. Recently I migrated an old project from Unity to Godot and it took only a day. MVC is beautiful.

This is my first #ScreenshotSaturday so I'm going to keep it simple. Here is the core battle screen in Slumber Realm.

It's still in the brainstorm stage, but the core mechanic is gonna be built around dice rolling

Created new sprites for Gridbound over the weekend. The old one is pico-8 colors - inspired by 'Falling Ecosystem' by sprvrn.
Increased the sprite size from 8x8 to 16x16 for the new one. I kinda like this one better, thoughts?
