Besides that, I suppose the only way to understand how to make something appealing to a larger public is to emulate others, and interview viewers.

Assuredly, there would be a common link between people who watch streams rather than videos.

What would a ”streamer with a model” rather than a full vtuber look like? If there are any differences at all.

Nine years, however, seems like a very short amount of time, even for something as nascent as streaming. Doubly so when its popularity is only half as old.

If anything, it seems like—

I should learn the difference between a vtuber, the niche, and a streamer in general. It seems like Twitch itself is doing relatively fine, if adjusting to post-COVID.

But I know very little of the niche and its history, or how to at would effect me as an independent or a company man.

It seems rude going into someone else’s community and acting with the end goal of being a competitor, irregardless of how kind and respectful, or normal, that behavior is.

In the end, I am sure I will both apply to companies and talk to communities.

There is only so much watch time per viewer, and Twitch encourages lurkers to focus on two streamers at most.

Time used to view my stream is more likely to be taken away from someone else than it is to be claimed from non-stream-watching.

This sounds truly horrifying, but it seems the only two ways are stealing from others or being stolen from.

I’d much rather the latter, however…

Regardless, thank you for the advice.

I don’t really have the ability to make a community in the way some of these first generation debut’s get. It seems better to get burnt a year in and take a thousand or so fans with me than to struggle for a year and only make half that amount.

Moreso, I just want a pre-established community because I’m not very good at advertising myself. Going out and specifically talking to others for networking feels exploitative, so I try and make up for it with work ethic and skills.

I have a little bit of experience streaming already, insofar that I can setup OBS and commentate on games. And I have an IPhone, microphone, wifi, and PC, already, so I don’t really need to be provided for besides the model itself. Even that I can do myself, too.

A friend’s been really encouraging for me to try, and seeing her success is also pretty neat. I think I might try to apply to a few vtuber companies. Can anyone vouch for some? I don’t want to apply to sketchy places, I’ve almost had my ID stolen already.

Some may forget she's still a shark.
