But now Republicans want to cut these programs — all so billionaires can pay less in taxes.

👶🏽 About 1 in 3 children living in poverty are enrolled in #HeadStart.
Rolling back the program doesn’t just harm kids —it also hurts parents & their parents’ ability to work, provide, & build a better future.

If Head Start is eliminated or its services are severely disrupted, hundreds of thousands of child care slots will be at risk of disappearing.

It's despicable that Trump is needlessly harming young children living in poverty & their families as a means to his own petty political retaliation efforts

26.03.2025 14:40 — 👍 32 🔁 9 💬 2 📌 0When opponents of the Department of Education say they want to "return education to the states," what they mean is they want to take federal funding without any strings (e.g., civil rights oversight) attached.
Current trends suggest that this this $ would probably used be for more school vouchers.
I believe this is the third time we've been told this will happen. Again, dropping the Department of Education by EO is illegal. However, he can gut it to become a useless husk. Particularly if Congress doesn't push back on its spending powers. This will especially harm disabled students.

Gutting the Department of Education will impact everything from internet access to school buses.
Let’s not make it harder to learn.
Cutting 50% of the Department of Education's workforce is a backdoor attempt to eliminate the Department, a move which more than 6 out of 10 Americans oppose.
Who will this hurt?

The contrast is clear:
✅ Democrats invest in kids, families & working people.
❌ Republicans prioritize the ultra-rich & special interests.
ARPA proved government CAN work for everyday Americans—We must demand our government prioritize the needs of its people, especially kids
