The video of this kidnapping shows agents having to hold back another agent who was pissed he wasn’t the one getting to kidnap the child. With no background checks or screenings, there’s no way ICE isn’t already filled with pedophiles.

The Roberts Court having to choose between defying their god king or taking food out of the hands of millions of children is some next level US series finale writing.

Either they weaken the unitary executive theory or turn expanding the Supreme Court into a moderate position.

Even though I hate him, Trump had tremendous political instincts when it came to appealing to America’s id.

Part of his mental decline is him getting more stubborn and digging in on impossible fights.

A 15% failure rate in military equipment is shorthand for a lot of dead soldiers in training accidents.

Whether he meant to or not, Schumer proposed a compromise so simple even a compromised mass media could understand it.

Most of the people complaining are under the age of 35 so they don’t remember, but the lesson of the 1995 shutdown was that Republicans overplayed their hand and fucked themselves by looking unreasonable.

This GOP bunch are too arrogant and stupid to realize they’ve stepped into the same trap.

Cool thing is Schumer can add an additional demand every week now that the β€˜compromise’ has been made public.

My theory has been that if Gore won in 2000 and 9/11 still happened, Bush wins in a wipeout in 2004, but the 2008 financial crash still happens, leading to Hillary Clinton winning in 2008.

AC/DC is great because their catalogue is mostly songs about either sex or murder and both types are used to pump up stadiums full of people at sporting events.

Yeah, wouldn’t anything added to the CR mean that the House would have to reconvene after the Senate approves in order to vote on it? In that case, Johnson has to swear in Grijalva, which would be an added bonus.

It won’t be long before there’s more GOP votes in the Senate for impeachment than getting rid of the filibuster.

One thing I’m curious to see play out is Dem governed states fully funding SNAP while GOP governed states don’t. I can’t see how that doesn’t make the GOP look terrible and further ratchet up the pressure on them.

Saying that you easily have the power to end a shutdown you are actively ratcheting up the pain on, but also saying that you won’t end it because it will give your opposition some advantage in a distant future is a…choice.

My take on OpenAI is they are purposefully using a model that is capital intensive in order to increase the barriers of entry to potential competitors but haven’t thought about how doing so will result in competitors seeking out less capital intensive business models that are better long-term.
