Under Trump’s Mass Deportation Plan, Some Migrants Are Being Sent to Panama The administration has asked Panama to take in hundreds of people who can’t easily be sent back to their countries. Many say they are in danger.

Immigrants they can't deport to their home countries are taken to Panama instead, where the plan is to detain them in a camp near the jungle. This is a trend I wrote about in S. America under 1970s & '80s dictatorship: the outsourcing of concentration camp detention. (Australia also did it in 2001.)

UPDATE: Nearly 100 migrants, recently deported by the United States to Panama where they had been locked in a hotel, were loaded onto buses Tuesday night and moved to a detention camp on the outskirts of the jungle, several of the migrants said.
