it really took two of you to write this book? 😂
new rule of thumb: always scope component ids, even if you think it will only ever appear once on the page

i hope they turn it around, i can’t imagine using the alternatives
it’s crazy to think back to the lull between the crypto boom and the ai boom

I go straight to Companies House to see what the craic is 👀
I feel like this is a bit like the idea that if you ask an LLM about something you know really well, you can spot all the flaws.
Whereas if you ask about something you don’t know, you just believe what it says.
When I get an LLM to write Elixir, I usually rewrite it all to fit my taste.
When I get an LLM to write anything but Elixir, I think it looks amazing on the first pass.
Pay-to-play LLMs have disproven the notion that developers don’t pay for things.

Claude is amazing on the 5-9 shift when you’ve only got enough energy to describe the problem.
04.06.2025 15:45 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I used Claude Code to write a couple of complicated js hooks that would have taken me like a week to write on my own.
I can’t understand AI doomers, this is incredible.
When Claude is cooking I feel more like a tastemaker than a developer.

24.05.2025 14:45 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A problem with AI code is that if there’s an existing incorrect assumption, the AI will just persevere with what you asked it, rather than fixing the underlying problem.
23.05.2025 13:30 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The AI dev tooling that has been launched in the last 12 months is insane.
Software development is a complex field, so it's not like these tools have started with a simple job.
It feels inevitable that every job is going to be changed.
The Europa League final is more interesting than the Champions League final this year.

09.05.2025 13:30 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0AI note-taking during meetings is actually a godsend if you’re a chronically bad notetaker like me.
So many times I’ve gotten off a call and totally blanked on what I’m supposed to do.
I love seeing people claim AI will take everyone else’s job, but not theirs 😂
03.05.2025 15:23 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It's a total bloodbath in the AI IDE space right now.
Every week, someone new has $100m in revenue or talk of an acquisition offer in the billions.
Yet every week, there's a new tool or service that is looking to become the new wedge.
It's an incredible time to be alive 🍿
This is a great post on simple (yet effective) things you can do with SVGs

Using AI to write code feels a bit like playing a one-armed bandit.
You don't always win, but the occasional hit of dopamine makes it worthwhile.
