Bodes well to have men and women called to provide an umbrella of safety for Americans in The Resistance. These folks fight for democracy and the Constitution, which gives people like me a right to question govt agencies and departments where they served. That's deep, not some imaginary deep state.

@kenbazinet.bsky.social has it exactly right. Believe it or not national security professionals, welcome being questioned, by the Congress, by the press, and by the citizens. Yes, sometimes it’s a pain. But it’s part of what keeps us from being the KGB. And that is being destroyed.

James Clapper and John Brennan are patriots who have devoted their lives to this country. They’ve helped protect us in ways most Americans will never understand—or know. They’ll be remembered for honoring their Oath.

Their critics in the Trump administration will not be remembered at all.
