and no I haven't played Silent Hill f, I'll play it some day, but I bet it's not really correct and also Fatal Frame is right there!!! I dunno where PT falls, whatever, PT is its own thing idk, it wasn't even quite SH, at least as far as it got. it can just be its own achievement.

Resident Evil can keep going cuz it's dumb as hell and can reinvent itself over and over. to an extent it's more about shifting gameplay, keeping it novel. SH is more specifically about story and and aims higher as art, not designed to be paraded out and reshaped and again.

Silent Hill is such a silly franchise cuz it blatantly obviously should've just stopped after SH4 (has some good music & visuals so it can stay even though it sucks)and the 1st movie (has some good and reused music even though it sucks) but Konami and fans can't accept that
