What's going on in our country right now is absolutely insane. I think a lot of people are in denial it's even happening despite it being in our faces. In our Fascist and Capitalist system minorities and LGBTQIA+ people are always the scapegoats, but eventually it's everyone's turn. Stay safe friend

I feel like these days I'm growing so much as a person, I feel a lot stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally. I'm glad I am, but my nervous system lately is very overwhelmed. But you know, I'd rather live an intense life than wish to be numb. Numbness is stagnation, and that's like dying

Back from my trip to see my family this month. I'm glad we visited, it was full of ups and downs and I learned a lot during my visit. We visited a lot of historical locations where I got to take over 11000 photos, it's gonna take forever to curate and edit them all. I'm exhausted, more detail later

Someday I'd like to do a documentary on the similarities between the Jazz and Blues traditions in New Orleans and Viet Nam (Mekong Delta). Both sharing a similar climates and a history of being colonized by the French. Brass funerals and tragic romantic folk music is also something they share

Also, I recently graduated from my 2 year degree. It's been a great experience after a dropping out and having a rough early 20s, being in an overall really bad mental health place and struggling with addiction. My journey into art and digital creation has really helped me heal in so many ways

Excited to take a lot of photos of architecture soon. There's a varied history that includes styles such as Native Vietnamese, Chinese, French Colonial, Soviet Brutalist, Tamil Indian, Khmer, and Islamic architecture. There's also a temple for a whale deity in my family's home town and giant Jesus

Going on a trip to see my family in Viet Nam next week. I'm both super excited and a bit nervous. I've been worried my family wouldn't understand my experience being Vietnamese American, because it is different than being born there. But I've also realized that's not an issue, I'm loved anyways.

First post everybody! I have a few friends that use Bluesky, and have heard it's less toxic than twitter. I figured I'd give it a go to keep up with my friend's work and to try this form of social media. Hopefully more is planned for the future.
