No need: It's easy to sign up to an overseas server, infact the majority are overseas. Even UK hosting companies own some. Then all you do is pipe through the URL you want: It comes back as originating from wherever your server is.

True, but voltage can be raised with a boost converter, when needed. I suppose the next issue would be how much that shortened the battery life.

The rolling stock often costs more than the layouts. It's common to see a stock of 50ish trains/carriages go for $300K. This is something security at exhibitions is well aware of.

I used to rent office space from a model railway club which also ran exhibitions. Graffiti is quite commonplace, particularly on European layouts, as well as rust, oil, soot marks, dirt; all painsakingly painted on and kept very clean.

Couldn't say that about Amstrad's horrendous version. Sinclair (the person) also brought out solid state memory cartridges before USB was thought of, with the Z88. Despite being the natural successor to 3.5" FDDs at the time, we had to wait 15 years for a standardised equivalent.

When I used some very strong LED lights (necessary for rural roads in complete darkness otherwise), I fitted strong diffusers over them, to stop the light going in just one direction - otherwise it's more like a weapon than lighting up the road, which helps no-one.

... Camera trick involves smearing a tiny amount of vaseline over the lense, or using an optical filter with lines scored into it. Which suggests it's something to do with the surface of the eye, eg excess tears.

I think the OP may well have had astigmatism, but also whatever caused the streaking effect as well, so they associated it purely with what they had been diagnosed with. Astigmatism is usually just a minor focusing glitch. This streaking effect resembles a camera trick.

I get bad stigmata when cycling in the winter some years. A medical contact says he can't treat a mythological condition. It was really bad in 2019, when I was commuting to food production involving alcohol handwash.

Odder than that (although I'd have to look up the specific dates etc again), semiconductors were invented long before thermionic valves, but took a while to catch on, being initially stuck at the simple PN junction of the cat's whisker diode.
