Ever seen a Traction Engine doing a wheelie?
(see full video for a lot of wonderful road steam, along with the usual rail based machines)
That's remarkable that you've scratch-built this, it looks like a kit! I've just completed one in 45mm scale and that was tricky enough, so in 009 scale I salute you.

It's either great or awful timing, given recent events, but here's a video talking about how I tried to pay tribute to The Railway Series in its 80th year, and 150 years of Stepney. π

For your viewing convenience, you can now see the entire "book" of Stepney and the City Engines. π
Duke the Lost Engine
Island of Sodor map (1958)
I've only just noticed an artistic easter egg in this illustration from Duke the Lost Engine - the map that the Fat Clergyman is reading is the original island of Sodor map from 1958 π

Happy birthday, Step! π
I couldn't resist, haha! π
But good for you, though, for showing your support and admiration π
#OTD 150 years ago, out from Brighton Works puffed new Stroudley Terrier, No.55 Stepney.
A favourite for myself and many others, due equally to the design and history of the loco itself and Rev. W. Awdry's personification.
Happy Birthday StepneyπSorry I also go by your name.π
Here's the link to the story I illustrated. Be sure to check out the others too. They're absolutely fabulous.

I want to give a massive thanks to @terrier55stepney.bsky.social for commissioning me as one of the many wonderful artists to illustrate his book "Stepney & The City Engines", in celebration of the little Terrier's 150th birthday. Cheers, Max β₯οΈ

I painted Thomas the Tank Engine, my parents might put it on the fridge.π¨
To go authentic with this what-if Railway Series book, I gave painting a go for an illustration of Thomas visiting the Bluebell. Check out the story, cause it took.. a long time.
The F1 Season might be over, but if you're looking for some racing action over the winter months, let's roll the clock back to last summer, when a different Max went head-to-head with some red vehicles...

Tell me your Railway Series headcanons - but I want to hear ones that don't contradict anything in canon!
Mine is that BoCo was away for repairs during "Thomas and the Twins", hence why he never appears and why Edward's branch was chosen for Thomas to go to.

If you visit the Nene Valley Railway, you may want to keep an eye out in the yard for this lovely repainted 1967 Scammell Scarab and box trailer... not least because it's been fitted with an enlarged print of one of my NWR posters π
