To take an extreme case, most people consider military force against Hitler, presumably including decapitation strikes, justifiable. If you think targeting the ayatollah isn't, it seems like your implicit line is somewhere between democide of tens of thousands, and genocide of millions.

I guess my question for people who disapprove of killing Khamenei is: where is the line? It really seems like there ought to be some level of mass murder where the rest of the world is justified in responding with force.

It's one thing to fire on US or Israeli military bases, but they've also fired on civilian targets in countries that aren't attacking them, but only hosting US bases.

I think there's less differentiating them from Dario in terms of ideological motivation than you imply. They all think ASI will likely be enormously powerful, and the good guys (each of them respectively of course) need to develop it first to ensure it's safe and has good values.
