Gonna throw Yein and Sacheo into the thread. They're twins with a winding backstory and family history that combines the game's canon with some real-world East Asian (Chinese primarily) folklore. Mostly a lot of ghosty spooky stuff. Many life events and their thinking are immigrant-coded.

At least with Ireul Sharlayan treats all citizens equally, none of this 2nd class citizen bullshit just because I'm not the majority ethnicity despite how long my family's been here.

Unlike Ireul, my ancestors came to my country 5 generations ago (her parents were the first generation to settle in Sharlayan).

Like Ireul, I have no idea of my ancestral history beyond my country because nobody remembers (her parents didn't talk about it to her).
