Quakers march against Trump’s crackdown on immigrants carrying on their long faith tradition A group of Quakers are marching more than 300 miles from New York City to Washington, D.C. to demonstrate against the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigrants.

I haven't deep dived into Quaker history, so can't say with certainty whether there has been the kind of exploitation in their communities that we associate with cults. But generally speaking, both historically and now, I'd more readily describe them as activists. Eg: apnews.com/article/quak...
