Seven years ago, a group of transgender kids came together with a simple idea: show the world who we really are.

Since then, GenderCool Champions have been leading with joy, purpose, and resilience. They’re writing books, advising companies, and shaping the future as the next generation of leaders.

Sawyer’s story is a reminder that being yourself isn’t something that can be taught. Every young person knows themselves best and when they are embraced for who they are, they thrive.

Visibility is just one important piece of the movement. We must keep uplifting transgender and nonbinary voices, not just on March 31st, but year-round.

Meet a few of the GenderCool Champions, advocates who are determined to show the world that transgender and nonbinary youth are living joyful, resilient, and thriving lives through sharing their stories.

They're regular teenagers who go to school, hang out with friends, and give back to their communities. They're also testifying in congress, leading advocacy campaigns, and speaking at corporate events, shaping the world into a more inclusive place for their transgender and nonbinary peers.

Because we all need a few positive affirmations right now.

Nava's work revolves around questions of culture and how to collectively change it for the better. Her commitment to accurate storytelling of transgender experiences is empowering current and future generations to be the authors of their own representation.

Nava Mau is an actress, film maker, and cultural worker making waves in mainstream representation of transgender people. In 2024, her performance as Teri in Netflix's Baby Reindeer earned her an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

GenderCool is hosting our first-ever cross-company Milestone Virtual Event on Transgender Day of Visibility!

It's more important than ever to hear directly from transgender and nonbinary young people as they strive to make change in their communities, the workforce, and beyond.

Win or Lose is a show about perception and empathy and thinking twice before you judge the person next to you. We encourage everyone to watch and experience for themselves this charming, visually beautiful series that helps us all become better, more understanding people.

The character Kai is smart, funny, confident and kind. Like all middle schoolers, she's finding her way through life, and she's celebrated by her team, family, and friends.

The young characters in Win or Lose are heartwarming, hilarious, quirky, and real. They are your kids, your friends’ kids, and your neighbors’ kids.

We worked with Pixar because we believe in the healing power of characters who represent real life. This series about a middle school, co-ed softball team offers a window into this awkward life chapter with grace and authenticity.

Transgender and nonbinary young people just want to live their lives the same as everyone else. Point blank period.

Wendy Carlos is one of the most influential composers living today. It's her work as a trailblazer in her field that empowers young transgender people today to achieve their dreams.

Wendy was also a pioneer in transgender visibility. Coming out publicly in the 1970's, she credits hearing others talk about their experiences in helping her realize she could live openly as a her authentic self.

As a multiple Grammy award winning musician and one of the great innovators in synthesized and electronic music, Wendy composed the film scores for The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, and Disney's Tron.
