I've been wondering for like 9 years now, with how exceptionally bad my avp stuff does on tumblr even compared to other fanart there, whether I'm on one of those circulating blacklists.

Well, that recent interaction went so wrong that the person went back and deleted their reblog of my art.

I deleted the replies talking about algorithms on different sites, but I don't know what exactly was wrong about them.

I wish people just would tell me what I did wrong.

Oh, you made a fan themed sideblog as extra boost. I had that in other fandoms, but it didn't do anything to increase exposure for me.

What's the name of your reblog account?

Cuz the way you phrase it seems to imply that "tracking" somehow makes art more welcome?

I know of your tumblr activity, I'm still using that site and regularly visit the avp related tags. But following blogs and reblogging art and all that has no impact whatsoever on whether my art's interesting to that community, so I'm confused with what you mean with "tracking down".

Well, that confirms there's no point trying here either. I'd already given up on Tumblr last year for ocs and then for fanart in general when ever a post that did circulate didn't result in watchers.

And then there is : why can't I get anyone to tell me what the weakness of my illustrations is? It happened exactly once on Gaia Online of all places, and it happened once with a fanfiction. But most I discover slowly on my own. Too slow. I'll be dead before I get anywhere useful.

But I'm so frustrated. I should be good enough to be able to settle somewhere other than deviantart. I've been practicing art for over 30 years, why am I not past the part where socializing is the most important skill?

Coupled with learning the degree of social performance demanded as more important than any of the actual art. I should really stop trying, it never works out on sites like this.

And then the next pic I post doesn't even get any likes.
