@ssfrigerio.bsky.social I would measure the population's preparedness for the hurricane. I would gather information through a survey on how prepared people felt for the storm, and where they got information and updates before and during the storm. #crisis8

@ssfrigerio.bsky.social This was a risky move considering humor is usually not received well in a crisis, and therefore, I probably would not have responded this way. However, it was light-hearted and generally enjoyed by audiences. #Crisis7

@ssfrigerio.bsky.social Based on the comments, this UofTampa TikTok post reached the intended audience of supporters and sympathizers (students and prospective students). There were also some straddlers, but not many. #Crisis6

@ssfrigerio.bsky.social I believe Coombs' theory is more useful. Benoit is based on assumptions. Coombs first analyzes the type of crisis and then decides which response strategy to use. The theories are similar, but Coombs is specific to the type of crisis. #Crisis5 #COM385

@ssfrigerio.bsky.social This post expresses anger over the recent cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel's show. Many are saying that this is a violation of free speech, and it is evoking anger. When a shared emotion is strong enough, it can lead to a movement, as seen here with the #boycottdisney. #crisis4

@ssfrigerio.bsky.social This example is meant to scare people into wearing helmets. However, it is problematic because it creates a stigma around people with brain damage and disabilities. The graphic imagery can also cause people to tune out quickly, meaning no change in behavior. #Crisis3

This warning is effective because it is graphic and evokes a sense of fear. Graphic warnings have proven to increase smokers' intentions to quit. This could be seen as problematic because smoking is a valuable part of some cultures. #Crisis2

I would choose stakeholder relations. Stakeholders are involved and therefore are more attentive than publics, reachable through newsletter or website. Generally, stakeholder relations appears to have lower stakes and a reachable audience. #Crisis1#COM385
