March 28th will be the next No Kings rally & march!

If you missed us last weekend, this will be another chance for you all to get out in the community and make new connections to get involved!

Portland has been in the spotlight more & more, a peaceful march was also tear gassed two weeks ago.

@councilorkanal is here talking about his proposal to ban the use & possession of tear gas within Portland city limits. A proposal that our very LOVELY (/s) @portlandpolicebureau intends to oppose. He encourages the public to address the mayor and tell them how you feel about PPB’s intended proposal

Thank you for your kind words! As organizers we are a lot farther left than the org at the national level, we intended on having our own organizers in the crowd asking hard questions. We weren’t there to make them comfortable, but to engage. But we understood this made people uncomfortable. Our bad

Mutual Aid is more important right now than ever! With our communities at risk, we must help each other with the skills we already have. Everybody has something they can give! The government has already proved they will not help us, we MUST help each other.

We have canceled the class, and will do whatever we can in the future to make sure this kind of mistake does not happen again. We understand the trust takes time to rebuild, and can promise to do better in the future.

We anted to extend our heartfelt apologies to the community for the oversight in including the DLO in our program.

We had our reasons for wanting to open a dialogue with them, but in the end, it doesn’t matter because we forgot to center the folks in our community that matter the most.

Councilor Sameer Kanal is working on policy to prevent the use, storage, or possession of tear gas in City limits. This will be a multi-month process, but you can ake it go faster by convincing swing-vote Councilors to support it.
