it isn't in this case because other countries also have roughly the same amounts when adjusted for USD. It's actually because the yen has such little buying power that nintendo can't greed them and make money. like how the jp locked switch 2 translates to 330 dollars usd but the region free is 450

so i did a bit of research. Switch 2 games in japan are roughly the price games currently are on switch 1, with mario kart world equating to about 70 dollars physical (9980 yen) but 60 digital (8980 yen), and DK Bananza is roughly 55 dollars digital (7980 yen)
