The end of a beautiful day.

Watching the sunrise over the last 30 minutes has been wonderful.

A great way to start the day.

After having left the heat of a Houston summer, the brisk 62 degrees feels great.

Although daughter thought it foolish to get a room facing the Sierra Nevadas, she would not have gotten up to have this experience had she not seen the sun start to rise while she was sleeping in her bed.

Texas weather. I decided to stop on my way home to let the extreme rain to pass.

Why this Juneteenth feels different from all other Juneteenth celebrations Even though Juneteenth may not be celebrated as widely this year, it's encouraging to see that Houston, which plays  an important role in the history of this holiday, still holds it in reverence....

Juneteenth is a great Texas tradition, a tradition that has continued during progressive and repressive periods of our history.
