So they end up not being paid as much for their work as they should and/or becoming really exhausted and/or feeling really guilty for not being able to meet the service needs of people and families they know well.

We don't treat our rural providers very well, and in turn, rural disabled folks.

Great point, Dot. In rural communities, our registered providers have limited time to provide services to people with the NDIS and people on work cover. From my understanding, NDIS item prices generally pay better for providers? But rural ways of doing means they often provide services over & above.

Many of the same issues are faced by those seeking help with Worksafe/WorkCover in rural areas in Aus. Providers fewer again,+have to also be registered by the insurers in order to be used! Leaves those looking for help with little to no options. I had to apply to the #NDIS for help #vicgov #auspol

I hear you, Debbie. It's not super helpful language and it doesn't really capture what happens in our communities.
