Today’s mood. But I also wrote a letter to the superintendent of the Idaho school district demanding a 6th grade World Civilization teacher take down her “Everyone is welcome here” sign. I told him a man named Hitler didn’t believe “everyone is welcome here” so he killed 6 million ppl. Education.

I’d LOVE to see her in the senate, a dysfunctional body that truly needs fewer old white men. And that’s coming from an old white man.

This here stack is ‘bout Social Security. Write ‘em, y’all. Call ‘em. Be LOUD.

My 1st thought as I awake each morning, my last thought as I turn out the lights each night. And I remind myself: there’s power in positive thinking.

It almost felt too soon after losing Sunny, but when we found a chihuahua pup at the shelter, we didn’t wanna pass up the opportunity to give Gus a new companion. So far, he’s not feeling it 😏. But Carmelita seems amazingly comfortable in her new surroundings so far. Gus’ll come around.

During a day filled with sadness & anger towards my own government, I’m gonna end it on a good note. “On Golden Pond” is on TCM. From the first notes of Dave Grusin’s beautiful score during the opening credits, I’m a 15 yr old again, fully aware I’m watching Hollywood royalty achieve greatness.

Watching “Waitress” the musical, recalling my partner not telling my mom a pie she’d made for him wasn’t his fave b/c he knew she baked it with love. And there’s this line: “Mama always said you could live to be 100 if you give up everything that makes you wanna live to be 100.” Happy Sunday, y’all!

A cousin gave me this Sarcasm Calendar for Xmas, and this final-day-of-January msg perfectly sums up my 1st 700+ hours of ‘25. My use of the word “fuck” has been disproportionate, even for me. Y’all enjoy your weekend. I’m gonna fuckin’ try.

What happened to the good ol’ days, when a President (Dubya) could put up a vastly unqualified nominee (Harriet Miers) and Congress was like, “Nope” ? I think I answered my own question by using “Dubya” and “good ol’ days” in the same sentence. Pray if ya pray. I’m just gonna get a lil baked. ☮️

I'm halfway through my emails to each senator who voted today to advance Hegseth's joke-of-a-nomination. I'll hand-write Collins & Murkowski to thank them for NOT making it a pure party-line vote. Our government may be broken, but that doesn't mean we give up or give in. Join me, won’t you?

Woke up IN A FUNK. Tho there are many possibilities as to why (😏), I can’t seem to shake it. Were I feeling finer physically (yes, the Orange Motherfucker ascends on a day I’m literally sick to my stomach), I’d get out & enjoy nature. Instead, I’ll think about MLK, Jr. & what I know America truly is

We’re doing peachy, I reckon. No snow, just the cold, cold air. I’m okay with that tho 🙂
