Yes and the congestion on the peninsula is exacerbated with many sidewalks being diverted into the streets with the use of chicanes. Surprising the City allows streets to be taken over risking the safety of pedestrians and adding to the obstruction of traffic flow.

I remember when there were covered walkways that construction companies needed to maintain so the sidewalks were never obstructed and always passable. The covering of plywood or whatever was to protect pedestrians from falling debris from the site. So much has changed #SafetyMatters
