The women’s team had 16 professional players on it (the rest were college players). Granted the PWHL doesn’t have the same reach as the NHL but as a season ticket holder for the Seattle Torrent I can say the games are great.

I’m young enough that I didn’t have peers with polio. But I had a teacher in elementary school who used a cane because of it. And told us how lucky we were to have a vaccine. It’s a foundational memory for me about how science can make things better.

If you are under 18 you don’t need ID to fly in the US.

They’ve been requiring it for domestic travel since last May. I’ve been flying with my passport since I already had one and will update my license to a RealID when it expiries this year.

The WA state one works for travel by land over the border into Canada. RealID from states that don’t border Canada won’t work.

When I lived in Missouri I used to have a paper card that came with information about my polling place. I could use that in place of photo ID to vote. I never did because I never had it with me. But I could have.

In Washington state they have to scan your ID at the grocery store to buy alcohol no matter what. So my old status doesn’t preclude me anymore. But it also isn’t a constitutional right.

You see it so many places. It especially shows up in dads. My spouse and I have been in and around support groups for trans kids for over a decade. There are a couple of subsets of people. And one of them is people who want to make the kids wait. Just because.
