So I’m in Portland, and we knew this was coming. But what’s breathtaking is the disparity between what’s actually happening on the ground vs the … “lies” isn’t a big enough word. Saw this on the actual WH web page and it just floored me. I guess all we can do is continue to not take the bait.

In the wake of today’s tragedies I urge my 💙 friends to utilize extreme caution during upcoming protests/ gatherings. I fear there will be Magats looking to retaliate or avenge Charlie Kirk’s death. Gun violence is never the answer.

Political violence is abhorrent. Everyone should be allowed to exercise their right to Free Speech.

But make no mistake, this type of thinking is exactly why he himself has fallen victim.

The other thing we can (and should) do right now is start planning to vote as many Republicans out of office as humanly possible.

Every state and local election. Midterms, etc. They’re all must wins. Then we can start limiting the damage that’s being done.

The only thing we can ‘do’ to stop this is mass, sustained protests. I’m talking protests that are big enough to impact the economy.

Folks who aren’t on political social media don’t think it’s bad enough for that yet, though, and I honestly question whether we have the attention span for it at all.

This is step one in how we lose free and fair elections. It’s not that Trump will “cancel” the midterms.

It’s just everyone has to vote in person, and urban downtowns will be filled with ICE checkpoints and intimidating National Guard troops to “double check” that only citizens vote.

The most interesting thing about this week was the fact that Donald Trump’s best friend was Jeffrey Epstein and Jeffrey Epstein died on his watch.
