While Parliament is in recess, I’ve been visiting schools across the constituency! From a Q&A with Corfe Hills Sixth Form to questions from Lytchett Matravers School Council.

Hospices provide dignity, comfort, and support at the end of life.

Despite this, they are too often left to fend for themselves and find funding from charity.

That's why I was proud my motion that seeks to do better was passed yesterday at conference.

A busy first day of conference! I have:

🥁 Led the marching band with Sir Ed Davey through Central Gardens
☕ Hosted a Hospitality focussed round table with Deputy Leader Daisy Cooper
🐕 Opened the Lib Dem Rally and been part of Todd's stage debut!

I agree. If they try to block this legislation it truly undermines the role of the HoL - the commons has supremacy and cloaking extended delays in “committee” is disingenuous

Solving the SEND crisis: report calls for culture shift and funding to make mainstream education genuinely inclusive - Committees - UK Parliament A new Education Committee report calls for a root and branch transformation of the way mainstream education caters to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

I’ve fought for major SEND reforms since entering Parliament, and today’s Education Committee report echoes what parents tell me daily.
It urges earlier identification, staff training, more local specialist places and stronger accountability.
The Govt must act on this evidence.

Yesterday Tom Gordan MP and I met Minister McCluskey to discuss the Warm Homes plan and spray-foam insulation issues.

Key outcomes included:
🔴Commitments to stronger consumer protection
🔴Action on spray foam insulation mortgage challenges
🔴 key improvements to TrustMark

Spoke about how to better support neurodivergent people into employment in a parliamentary debate Challenged the minister on failings in the current online safety bill particularly around young people Raised the need to prioritise British businesses in defence contracts with the MoD Called for improvements to disabled bus passes, fairer charging for school services and cheaper young people's travel during Bus Services Bill Led a local business forum in Wimborne hearing about the issues faced by the hospitality sector Co signed a Bill in that would introduce screening for autism and other conditions and improve teacher training on neurodiversity Assisted residents at advice surgeries in Canford Heath and Sturminster Marshall covering issues including Dorset Local Plan, road safety and failures in NHS services Met with chief fire officer to discuss fire prevention and future funding issues Attended the funeral of former MP, my friend and mentor, Dame Annette Brooke

Great to be back visiting schools now the summer holidays are over, continuing my mission to visit every school in the constituency.
Today I was at St John’s First.
I met staff and delivered an assembly on what an MP does. I answered great questions from my favourite animal to how to end poverty.

It is just a week until the Local Government Reception at this autumn's Liberal Democrat Conference. All friends of Local Government welcome!
