Submitted my first journal article 🤞🤞

Update: the Viva has been rearranged, it's going to be a little while to wait but looking forward to it! Also I'm feeling a lot better than I was - finally off the painkillers 🌞

Working on my first journal article today! I think I'm almost there with it 🥳 (still have to format and proofread but the bones are there)

I have just signed the contract to publish the book based on my PhD thesis, with R outledge books!! Titled "A Sociology of Institutional Banking Power: Elite Power at the Heart of British Banking" which I need to submit in October 2026. I am both excited and terrified!!

Thank you 🥰 definitely think I made the best decision - I want to enjoy the viva and being in pain would have ruined the day for me

For now I'll have to muster up a little more patience and wait a little bit longer 🫠

I'm getting better now and am on the mend, but still feel really sad that my Viva wasn't able to take place. I did the right thing by rearranging, but still feel impatient to finally have the Viva, especially as my PhD took 6+ years to finish!

I was meant to have my Viva today (it would have started 15 minutes ago!), and had been looking forward to it for a few months. Unfortunately I've been dealing with a long term health condition, and it reared its head last week and landed me in A&E.
