What a busy Saturday! Stopped at the Cedar Rapids HOPEwalk to support awareness and education on suicide prevention, took part in the world's largest cereal breakfast in Greene Square Park, and enjoyed some delicious ube hopia at the Cedar Rapids Asian Festival.

Great fun at National Cattle Congress in Waterloo last night! I spent some time visiting with voters at the Black Hawk County Democrats table, then enjoyed talking to folks who brought their animals to show.

Senator Grassley is right about this. Across-the-board tariffs are pushing our ag economy closer to the brink. I lived in rural Iowa through the 1980s farm crisis and saw banks close and families lose their farms. We can’t afford to go through that again.

Current economic policies, including across-the-board tariffs, are having a serious impact here in Iowa. I've said it before and I'll say it again: John Deere workers and their families should not have to bear the cost of this chaos in our economy.

I had fun earlier this week visiting with the Dubuque County Democrats! It was great to hear about the important work they’re doing to reach voters and support local candidates. An incredible group with lots of energy and commitment to making a difference in Dubuque County!

The pundits are beginning to see what we’ve known all along: northeast Iowa is in play and ready for change.

Each of us has our own story from that horrific day. We must always remember the heroism of the many first responders and the over 3,000 who lost their lives. May their memories be an opportunity for unity and healing.

I led a worship service at my church in the hours after the 9/11 attacks and I’ll never forget how we prayed together through our shock and grief.

Our hearts should break whenever we lose someone to a senseless act of violence. I am praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and friends. Violence has absolutely no place in our democracy.

We may not be in the same party, but I agree with Senator Barrasso on this.

Iowa is home to some of the best doctors in the world. The federal government should help them deliver quality care instead of taking a wrecking ball to our public health system. We can do better.
