page 1 of a comic featuring characters from final fantasy 14. the characters are fordola, with short orange hair and purple markings on her face, and lyse, with long blonde hair and a ponytail. this comic will reference an effect from the game called "resonance", which allows fordola to see what someone wants or is going to do before they do it. i will use this term to describe an effect that makes the colors of the comic change to black, white, and red. here on page 1, fordola is seen protecting lyse from an attacking soldier. she asks "you alright, princess?" while lyse looks flustered, fordola's resonance shows her lyse kissing fordola's neck. the image shocks fordola.

the change is nearly complete. mod's eyes are spread wide open, overwhelmed as her insides stretch to accommodate this new development. her belly is bulging, and her formerly human friend now wears a new coat of fur. their hands are large, gnarling into beastly paws that hook and dig into her pliant flesh. their tail wags behind them, reassuring the viewer that while their transformation might be alarming, it poses no threat. even if mod might be walking funny tomorrow.

slowly, very slowly, they begin to pull out. mod trembles and shakes, her eyes rolling back at the effort required to dislodge. her friend feels a similar sort of exertion, as their claws bend and dig, grounding themselves in her person after such a demanding experience.
