Medicaid covers end of life services, and you are eligible as soon as youβre eligible for hospice regardless of age.
The number 1 fear I hear from dying people is pain. Medicaid ensures you can die peacefully and without pain.
You really want to risk that?
Death Doula here. A credible, legitimate, funeral home will notify the SS of the death of a person immediately, which halts payments. This is done on your behalf/your survivors behalf.
Dead people do not collect Social Security. Elon Musk is lying to you.
Does that feel familiar?
Grief can also be a catalyst for change. Be brave in acknowledging any grief that is in this moment, allow yourself to process that grief, and let it change you.
We got this, we got each other.

We grieved when people and things we love, die.
There is death here, not only in the very real, mortal, human ways but also the death of systems, ideas, identities.
Immediately after a death, people often feel shocked, numb, confused. After a bit of time, hours even, there can be sadness, rage
I encourage everyone to take a moment in your overwhelm and notice the grief thatβs happening within you.
Along with the rage, shock, sadness, there is also grief. And there should be!
We grieve when we experience loss, we have lost much lately and will likely lose more.
You cannot engage with your mortality and still devalue other humans through inhumane deportation policies. Death work requires recognition of the inevitable within ourselves and those around us.
03.02.2025 18:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Death work is liberation work. When we live our lives from the perspective that we will inevitably die and all of this *gestures broadly* will end, our focuses shift. You cannot engage in death work and not believe housing is a rightβ¦

23.01.2025 22:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That makes sense! These are not small moments and in both instances something is ending and beginning at the same time, a lot is happening when someone dies and it can be overwhelming to sit with it.

There is a Meta mass log out in progress until 1/26.
I havenβt loggged into Facebook in days and I just (accidentally) logged into insta for the first time all week and yall, I donβt miss it.
Iβve read so much more now that I canβt doom scroll on 4 platforms. I may not go back.
My favorite part of death work is listening to people tell stories of their lives. I love learning about your favorite coffee mug and how the figurine on your table came into your life.
Tell me about your past vacations and old coworkers and pets. I want to know all your lore!
What did you do?
23.01.2025 00:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Among Trumpβs many day-one actions, one thatβs gone mostly unnoticed is his reversal of a Biden policy capping Medicare copays for generic drugs at $2. This rollback raises costs for seniors and those with chronic conditions, making life-saving medications harder to afford.
22.01.2025 23:43 β π 159 π 85 π¬ 10 π 3The "he's not gonna listen to her" reactions are missing many points. Lots of other people are also hearing it. Lots of people can see him hearing it, then weigh what she's said with what he'll do. Lots of people can see her refusal to surrender these ancient teachings to the latest face of empire

I wonβt be going back to TikTok, my mental health has improved leaps and bounds since getting off the platform.
Iβm going to redirect my death doula efforts here and YouTube (good grief planning) and Iβm working on uploading all of my TT content there.
A family of splitgill mushrooms grow aligned on the edge of an upturned branch in a bare winter forest. They look like seashells on wet stone All photos by me
Here are some nice mushrooms

Gentle reminder to relax your shoulders an unclench your jaw.
Bluesky is a party in a loud room, thereβs a lot of noise but not all of it means anything.
My brain feels like static filtering though a pair of ear muffs lately so hereβs BumbleTus doing baby stuff while foster mom watches TV. There are purrs but also TV.

Under the GOP's SAVE Act, Tribal IDs would NO LONGER be accepted as valid identification to register to vote.
This is a direct attack on the voting rights of Native American communities.
