We grieved when people and things we love, die.

There is death here, not only in the very real, mortal, human ways but also the death of systems, ideas, identities.

Immediately after a death, people often feel shocked, numb, confused. After a bit of time, hours even, there can be sadness, rage

I encourage everyone to take a moment in your overwhelm and notice the grief that’s happening within you.

Along with the rage, shock, sadness, there is also grief. And there should be!

We grieve when we experience loss, we have lost much lately and will likely lose more.

You cannot engage with your mortality and still devalue other humans through inhumane deportation policies. Death work requires recognition of the inevitable within ourselves and those around us.

Death work is liberation work. When we live our lives from the perspective that we will inevitably die and all of this *gestures broadly* will end, our focuses shift. You cannot engage in death work and not believe housing is a right…

That makes sense! These are not small moments and in both instances something is ending and beginning at the same time, a lot is happening when someone dies and it can be overwhelming to sit with it.

Among Trump’s many day-one actions, one that’s gone mostly unnoticed is his reversal of a Biden policy capping Medicare copays for generic drugs at $2. This rollback raises costs for seniors and those with chronic conditions, making life-saving medications harder to afford.

Im also abandoning Meta platforms, I may let my accounts languish for now but I won’t be over there much if at all moving forward.

I won’t be going back to TikTok, my mental health has improved leaps and bounds since getting off the platform.

I’m going to redirect my death doula efforts here and YouTube (good grief planning) and I’m working on uploading all of my TT content there.
