My latest creation. I’m exploring fabric printing right now and really enjoying the results. This is a shirt I was going to send to the thrift store, but instead, I decided to practice my fabric printing, and now it has a new life. I’m looking forward to wearing it soon. 😊

I’m in a green phase. Green has never been my favorite color. But I can honestly tell you, I am really enjoying it in my printing lately. 💚

Yesterday’s linocut printing went very well. I printed my new hand design on beautiful sage green Lakota paper, and creamy white Stonehenge. And I have one more color combination planned.

I am on a mini vacation with my husband. Yesterday we went to Ashland Oregon for the day, and walked through Lithia Park. Oh my, such a beautiful place, especially with all the colors of Autumn.

Enjoying drawing new, different imagery for prints, things that inspire me, ideas I have had in my head for a long time. I love viney trailing leaves and the image of the hand. Hands are so important to us. Even more now given my two recent hand injuries. Today’s task, finish carving.

This is an image that I am redoing from a print I made at the very beginning of my linocut journey I wanted to simplify the image, and add a bit more detail. And my printing skills are so much better now, after eight years. I know I can do better with my kitty angel.

Testing out a few more leaf stamps. The stamps are my own design, carved into Speedy Carve by Speedball, and the inks I am testing on my fabric are Caligo Safewash inks.

So the plan for all of these stamps that I am carving is to create some products for winter, tote bags, aprons, tea towels.

Finished carving my fern leaf stamp on Friday, and got to roll out some ink and test it on fabric yesterday. It printed up nicely.

I purchased some colors of Speedball’s fabric block printing ink. That just came in yesterday. Looking forward to trying them out soon.

Transferring a design to Speedy Carve.

This is my next rubber stamp. I’m using Speedy Carve block material and a bone folder, you could use the back of a spoon.

I like to do my drawings on tracing paper. I used a soft lead pencil, flipped my drawing over onto the block, and rub.

Follow your heart ❤️ Message from the creative gods.

I’ve been feeling very blocked creatively. I’ve been STRUGGLING with what direction to take my art. One of the directions pulling at me is textile printing. So I decided last week to just start moving forward and start carving stamps. #linocut

High school and college art classes and lots and lots of practice in my studios over the years.
