Paying lip service isn't going to be enough, and those companies that provide avenues for people to easily, intuitively, and transparently make choices about their (and third party) data and its use in AI are going to do well.

AI folks, those building language models, etc., need to GENUINELY work to meet people where they're at from a safety and comfort-level perspective.

Lot of "AI, but on YOUR terms" type messaging at CES this year.

This unfortunately often wasn't about protecting people's data – it was more trying to work around a friction point in adoption.
